
EC assures High Court of action on complaint regarding distribution of ₹10,000 tokens in Harbour constituency
The Madras High Court closed a writ petition alleging the distribution of ₹10,000 tokens with QR codes and unique serial numbers on behalf of AIADMK candidate Royapuram Mano alias R. Manohar at the Harbour constituency in Chennai. The Election Commission of India (EC) assured the court that it would take action according to law after a flying squad found no evidence of distribution or seizure of such tokens despite receiving complaints. The court will continue to pursue the matter.
