Congress chief Kharge convenes meeting of party brass over women’s quota, delimitation

Congress leaders met at Mallikarjun Kharge's residence to discuss the strategy for implementing the women's reservation law ahead of a special three-day sitting of Parliament. The meeting focused on the proposed amendments to the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam', also known as the Women's Reservation Act, and delimitation exercises. The government has circulated Bills related to the legislation, which will increase Lok Sabha seats to up to 850 and State/Union Territory Assembly seats to accommodate a 33% reservation for women before the 2029 parliamentary elections.
