JD Vance defends backing Orbán's campaign after landslide defeat

JD Vance defended his decision to campaign for Viktor Orbán, the Hungarian Prime Minister, before his landslide defeat. Péter Magyar, leader of the winning opposition party, Tisza, expressed concerns about foreign interference in the election but acknowledged the US as a strong Nato partner. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, will convene the new parliament and recommend the next prime minister by May 12th. Viktor Orbán will remain caretaker until then. The incoming government plans to address corruption, unlock EU funding, and join the European Public Prosecutor's Office.
