
BJD nominates Manas Mangaraj as its new leader in Rajya Sabha
Biju Janata Dal (BJD) announced the appointment of Manas Ranjan Mangaraj as its new leader in the Rajya Sabha. Mangaraj, a first-time Rajya Sabha MP, will lead the party's parliamentary group following the resignation of Sasmit Patra. The BJD also appointed Sulata Deo as deputy leader and chief whip. The party currently has six members in the Rajya Sabha but does not have any representation in the Lok Sabha after losing all its seats to the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2024 general elections.
