Except for a few glitches, polling smooth in Bagalkot
Polling in Bagalkot, Karnataka went smoothly with a voter turnout of 68.74%. However, two incidents delayed voting at booths. A senior citizen was allowed to vote after his son's ballot was mistakenly marked, causing confusion. In Ward No 10, a woman fainted due to the high temperatures and an argument ensued between voters and election officials over inadequate cooling measures. BJP candidate Viranna Charantimath expressed confidence in winning the by-election and alleged large-scale cash distribution by the Congress. The Pink booth saw success with 700 women voting out of 1,094 eligible voters.
