Tamil Nadu electorate grows by 6.35 lakh since February 23; scrutiny of nominations begins
The Election Commission of India (ECI) revised the electorate of Tamil Nadu to 5.73 crore, an increase of 6.35 lakh since February 23rd. Of these new additions, only 2.08 lakh are in the 18-19 age group. The ECI scrutinised all nominations for the upcoming Assembly election between March 30th and April 6th, with a majority of major party candidates' nominations accepted. However, TVK candidate M. Arunkumar’s nomination was rejected due to discrepancies in his papers.
