Prominent candidates file nomination papers, set out to canvass votes
Several candidates filed their nomination papers for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election on Monday. Tamilisai Soundararajan, former Telangana Governor and BJP leader, submitted her papers in Mylapore, accompanied by Piyush Goyal. B. Valarmathi, AIADMK Women's Wing Secretary and former Minister, filed for the Thousand Lights constituency. Aassan Maulaana, Congress candidate for Velachery, was re-nominated to contest against M.K. Ashok of the AIADMK. Ma. Subramanian, Health Minister and DMK candidate, campaigned door-to-door in Saidapet. D. Jayakumar, former Minister and AIADMK candidate for Royapuram, also canvassed for votes.
