The Congress on Saturday accused the BJP government in Rajasthan of shielding the accused in an alleged gang rape and attack on a Dalit girl's family. AICC Scheduled Castes Department chairman Rajendra Pal Gautam claimed that the police failed to act despite the survivor’s statement and repeated complaints, leading to only one arrest so far. He also alleged violations of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and demanded security and compensation for the survivor and her family. Gautam thanked Rahul Gandhi for his letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the withdrawal of cases linked to 2018 protests against the dilution of the SC/ST Act.
