Judge Richard Leon has temporarily halted Donald Trump's $400 million White House ballroom project, citing a lack of congressional authorization. The ruling, issued by the District Judge on Tuesday, prevents construction until Congress provides statutory approval. The National Trust for Historic Preservation, which filed the lawsuit, argues that the President lacks the authority to proceed with the project without such authorization. Carol Quillen, president and CEO of the National Trust, welcomed the decision, while Trump maintains his stance that the ballroom is being built at no cost to taxpayers and will be a "finest Building of its kind anywhere in the World".
