Lone rangers flex their muscle against alliances in Assam battle

The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and United People’s Party Liberation (UPPL) are confident about their performance in the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, with both parties aiming to significantly increase their seat share. These non-aligned parties have been gaining momentum as the election date approaches, potentially disrupting the anticipated straight fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA and the Congress-led ASM. The AIUDF, which won 16 seats in 2021, is contesting most of its seats in Muslim-dominated areas, while the UPPL, which won six seats in 2021, is contesting more seats outside its core area. Other non-aligned parties include the Trinamool Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Aam Aadmi Party, and the National People’s Party.
