London High Court rejects Nirav Modi’s “reopen” petition against extradition

The London High Court rejected the petition of diamond merchant Nirav Modi to reopen extradition proceedings against him in connection with the Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case. The court found that the reopening application, based on the Bhandari judgment, was not exceptional enough to warrant a re-opening. The CBI, which has been seeking Mr. Modi's extradition since 2018, argued for the continuation of the proceedings and highlighted the positive outcome as a testament to India's commitment in achieving justice.
