
Parliament may take an early break for Assembly elections
The Business Advisory Committee in the Lok Sabha discussed ending the Budget session early to allow leaders to campaign for upcoming elections. With Assembly elections in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry approaching, many MPs have been absent from parliamentary proceedings. The government indicated it may not formally end the session but instead take a break during the election period. Home Minister Amit Shah and other top leaders are pushing for an amendment bill to implement the Women’s Reservation Act ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
