PDP legislator Parra submits Bill on divisional status for Chenab valley, Pir Panjal valley in J&K

Waheed ur Rehmaan Parra, a Peoples Democratic Party legislator, has introduced a private member Bill in the J&K Assembly seeking administrative division status for the Chenab valley and Pir Panjal valley in Jammu. The bill, titled "The Jammu and Kashmir Territorial Administrative Reorganisation Bill, 2026," proposes new divisions with headquarters at Doda and Rajouri, along with new districts in both Jammu and Kashmir regions. The bill aims to address challenges related to geographical spread and regional disparities by establishing a transparent mechanism for creating new administrative units.
