People will assess governance failure, corruption and favour UDF: KPCC chief
Allegations of corruption and shielding of accused raise concerns about abuse of power.
Sunny Joseph, president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), accused the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) of shielding the accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case and eroding trust in governance. He also alleged financial irregularities in the government-backed Global Ayyappa Sangamam event and highlighted these issues as key campaign themes for the upcoming Assembly election. Joseph, who is contesting against K.K. Shailaja, a senior leader of the Left Democratic Front (LDF), emphasized his development track record in Peravur and claimed to have secured support from defectors within the CPI(M).
