T.M. Thomas Isaac, a CPI(M) central committee member, and E.N. Suresh Babu, the CPI(M) Palakkad district secretary, have questioned Pisharody's stance on the issue, arguing that he lacks political acumen and his comments are insensitive to the suffering of Palestinians. Pisharody defended his position, stating that culture cannot be attained through protests.
