Vellore Mayor, councillor booked for violating Model Code of Conduct

Mayor Sujatha Anandakumar and two others were booked by Sathuvachari police for alleged violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The case stems from a complaint filed by election officer Satheesh Velan alleging that Sujatha, ward 27 councilor Satheesh Kumar, and car driver Gopinath distributed sports equipment to youth in a corporation office. Following complaints, police seized the vehicle and initiated a probe.
