‘Family first’ in BJP list of bypoll candidates in Nagaland, Tripura

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has chosen candidates for upcoming by-elections in Nagaland and Tripura, reflecting a dynastic trend. Daochier Imchen will represent the Koridang seat in Nagaland, following his father's death, while Jahar Chakraborti is the BJP candidate from Dharmanagar, Tripura. The decisions follow the deaths of previous representatives in both constituencies. Rashik Goswami, a former BJP candidate for the Dharmanagar seat, and Biswa Bandhu Sen, who switched parties to join the BJP before winning the 2018 election, also died recently. The party has announced candidates for by-elections in Goa, Karnataka, and Karnataka as well.
