Haryana Rajya Sabha polls: Congress’ win nothing short of a hard lesson

Congress party in-charge for Haryana, B.K. Hariprasad, announced disciplinary proceedings against four of its MLAs for allegedly cross-voting during the recent Rajya Sabha election in Haryana. The party had 37 votes but five to six were declared invalid, with Hariprasad confirming that four MLAs were responsible for the cross-votes. Political analyst Kushal Pal stated that this incident highlights a need for stronger central control over state units and could have damaging implications for the future. Sanjay Bhatia, of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and Karamvir Boudh, from the Congress party, were elected to the Rajya Sabha, with Boudh winning by just one vote despite having more than enough votes in the assembly.
