Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah issued statements urging citizens to avoid unnecessary movement as heavy rainfall lashed the city on Wednesday night. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted partly cloudy conditions with wind thunderstorms/rain, including isolated heavy falls, for both Wednesday and Thursday. The PMD also warned of lightning strikes and advised farmers to manage their crops accordingly. Authorities were directed to prioritize drainage of rainwater from major roads and low-lying areas, clear choking points in drains, and ensure all underpasses remained operational.
