TDP issues show-cause notice to Eluru MP over drugs allegations

The Telugu Desam Party issued a show-cause notice to Putta Mahesh Kumar, the Eluru MP, following allegations linking him to a purported drugs-related incident. The party has asked Mr. Kumar to submit a written explanation within five days, stating that any development undermining the party's public credibility would be taken seriously. As an interim measure, Mr. Kumar has been advised to refrain from participating in party activities until the matter is examined and clarity emerges. Palla Srinivasa Rao, TDP State president, emphasized that the party maintains a zero-tolerance approach towards illegal activities, including narcotics. He reaffirmed the TDP's commitment to upholding its institutional reputation and values. The leadership will take a final decision after examining Mr. Kumar's explanation and reviewing findings from an internal review.
