The directive instructs them to refrain from making any remarks that could be considered disrespectful or offensive towards individuals based on their caste, creed, or community. Adityanath also directed that habitual offenders be blacklisted and this issue be included in MoUs with paper setters. This comes after a question asking candidates to choose a word for someone who changes according to opportunity was criticized by BJP leaders as it included the term "pandit," which they argued hurt Brahmin sentiments. The controversy has sparked concerns about potential political escalation, especially given that the objection came from within the ruling party itself.
