## Andhra University Physicist Highlights Quantum Potential for Agriculture, Medicine, and More Former principal of Andhra University R.D. Ratna Raju spoke at a 'Quantum Summit' in Vijayawada, emphasizing the potential of quantum theory to revolutionize fields like agriculture, medicine, and metallurgy. He praised the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's Quantum Valley initiative, highlighting its role in bridging quantum principles with real-world applications. Ratna Raju explained that the project leverages core quantum physics concepts like superposition, entanglement, and interference to develop technologies such as IBM's 156-qubit Heron processor for solving complex problems in areas like cryptography and drug discovery. He envisions a complete quantum ecosystem in Amaravati, including hardware manufacturing, software development, and training programs. The event was attended by prominent alumni from organizations like Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
