## Former Kashmir Chief Minister Targeted in Shooting Attempt Jammu and Kashmir Police have formed a seven-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the attempted assassination of former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah. The incident occurred on Wednesday night at a marriage function in Greater Kailash, where Abdullah was leaving when a gunman opened fire on him from behind. The 63-year-old suspect, identified as Kamal Singh, was apprehended immediately and a revolver used in the attack was recovered from his possession. Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti ordered the formation of the SIT due to the "seriousness and sensitivity" of the case.
