CPI(M) terms Minister Riyas’ exclusion from PM Modi’s Kochi event ‘an instance of BJP’s political vendetta’ against Kerala
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] criticized the exclusion of P.A. Mohamed Riyas, the Public Works Department Minister, from a NH-66 development project inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of political vendetta against Kerala and highlighted the Centre's "right-wing politics-driven discrimination" in setting financial hurdles for the project. The CPI(M) stated that the project was revived by the LDF after the Oommen Chandy government abandoned it due to high costs and legal complexities, and that the BJP has imposed additional financial burdens on Kerala through reduced borrowing limits and exclusion of NHAI borrowings from national debt.
