China eyes cross-border corruption law. Will it blunt the ‘long arm’ of the West?
China's National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee is proposing a new law aimed at preventing corruption by Chinese companies operating overseas. The proposed legislation, expected to step up anti-corruption efforts globally, will target fugitives and illicit assets abroad as well as corruption involving overseas businesses. The work report was submitted for deliberation at the fourth session of the 14th NPC.
