China’s chip industry seeks more state support for AI dominance

China’s semiconductor industry is calling for increased government support to bolster its artificial intelligence (AI) dominance. Experts, including Zhang Yunquan, a professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Hao Yue, a deputy to the National People's Congress, urge the government to regulate AI computing power prices, leverage strategic raw materials like rare earths, and fund technological solutions for self-reliance.
