Rahul alias Faisal Karim Masud and Alamgir Hossain, two Bangladeshi nationals, were arrested by the West Bengal police's special task force (STF) on March 7-8, 2026, in Bongaon after being identified as suspects in the murder of political activist Osman Hadi. The arrest followed credible information that they had fled Bangladesh and entered India illegally, intending to cross back into their home country. The two were remanded to police custody by a court on Sunday (March 8).
