Karnataka Budget 2026: IVF centres planned in Bengaluru and Kalaburagi
Karnataka's government has allocated ₹1 crore each for two new in-vitro fertilization (IVF) centers, one in Bengaluru and another in Kalaburagi, to expand access to assisted reproductive services. The budget also includes ₹10 crore for a boys’ hostel at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI). Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the allocation of ₹620 crore for construction of medical colleges, hospitals, and super-speciality hospitals across the state. The government plans to upgrade the Jayadeva Cardiovascular Hospital in Mysuru to a 600-bed facility and establish new super-speciality hospitals at Karwar and Yadgir. Additionally, a cancer hospital will be built in Munirabad–T.B. Dam to provide tertiary-level cancer treatment to patients from Vijayanagara and Koppal districts.
