Pawar play: why ‘no one wants to hurt’ NCP (SP) chief
Sharad Pawar, chief of the NCP (SP), and six other candidates from the ruling Mahayuti alliance, including Ramdas Athawale and Vinod Tawde, filed nominations for seven Rajya Sabha seats in Maharashtra. The Election Commission issued a notification to announce elections for 37 Rajya Sabha seats across ten states. The ruling party can secure six unopposed seats, while the opposition MVA can get one. The Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress initially considered opposing Pawar but ultimately rallied behind him due to his assurance that he would not merge with the NCP.
