Karnataka govt. revises orderly system for senior police officers

The Director General-Inspector General of Police (DG-IGP), Karnataka, has issued new orders abolishing the practice of deploying police personnel as orderlies and introducing an alternative arrangement. The revised policy, implemented in compliance with government communications, creates 373 follower posts for outsourcing through minimum wage norms, subject to conditions laid down in a March 8, 2017, government order. The new structure allows DGPs and ADGPs three followers, IGPs two, DIGs one, SPs one, and commandants one each. The government has also revised the monthly allowance payable to senior officers for outsourced personnel.
