
Jyoti Waghmare: Shinde Sena’s pick for Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra
Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena nominated Jyoti Waghmare as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections. Waghmare, a former professor and activist with a strong grassroots presence in rural Western Maharashtra, is expected to be unopposed due to the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance's majority in the state assembly. The seven seats in the Rajya Sabha are expected to be filled by nominees from the Shiv Sena, NCP, and BJP.
