
Rajya Sabha elections: AIADMK fields veteran Thambi Durai again, allots one seat to PMK
AIADMK announced the renomination of M. Thambi Durai for the lone Rajya Sabha seat it will contest. The party general secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, also stated that the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) had been allotted another seat in the Upper House. Durai, who previously served as Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker and Union Minister during the Vajpayee regime, has a long history of political service, including five terms in the Lok Sabha and entry into the Rajya Sabha in 2020.
