PM Modi to launch nationwide HVP vaccination drive on February 28

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign in Ajmer on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The campaign aims to protect 14-year-old girls from cervical cancer and will utilize the Gardasil vaccine, which protects against HPV types 16 and 18, types 6 and 11. The vaccination will be voluntary and free of cost, administered at designated government health facilities across India. Cervical cancer remains a significant health concern in India, with nearly 80,000 new cases and over 42,000 deaths reported annually.
