The closure of the Manjolai tea estate has left 1,906 voters in the Ambasamudram Assembly constituency without a voting place after their names were excluded from the electoral roll. The workers, who had lived and worked on the estate for generations, are now moving to the plains, leaving behind only 93 voters in the estate. The workers argue that they still reside in their homes within the estate despite finding jobs elsewhere, while officials maintain that the 1,813 voters who moved out should submit Form 6 in their current location.
