Congress alleges irregularities in land acquisition for Adani coal block in M.P.’s Singrauli, seeks joint panel

Congress MLAs in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly alleged irregularities in land acquisition and compensation for a coal block allotted to the Adani Group in Singrauli district. The allegations, raised by Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, led to heated discussions and arguments between the Treasury and Opposition benches. The government denied the charges, claiming that land acquisition was being done as per the RFCTLARR Act, 2013, and promised a probe in case of irregularities. However, the Congress MLAs demanded a joint House committee investigation into the matter. The Speaker directed to move to the next issue but the situation escalated with the Congress MLAs staging a walkout from the House.
