Cash-for-jobs scam in K.N. Nehru’s dept.: AIADMK MP files contempt plea against DVAC
Alleged corruption and failure to comply with court orders raise serious concerns.
I.S. Inbadurai, an AIADMK Rajya Sabha member, filed a contempt of court petition against A.T. Durai Kumar, the Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (V&AC), for failing to register an FIR in connection with the alleged cash-for-jobs scam in Minister K.N. Nehru's Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department. The MP argued that despite a court order on February 20, 2026, requiring immediate registration of the FIR, the DVAC had not taken action. The petition claims the scam involved bribes ranging from ₹25 lakh to ₹35 lakh obtained for filling 2,538 posts and was supported by evidence collected by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
