Forest official injured in leopard attack in Kannur; injured leopard found dead later

A beat forest officer, K. Rahul, was injured in a leopard attack during a search operation at Palathumkadavu in Kannur, Kerala on Wednesday evening. The injured leopard was later found dead nearby. Forest officials suspect the animal died from old and deep wounds and weakness. The carcass has been taken to the Aralam RRT headquarters hospital for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
