Rohit Pawar, a Nationalist Congress Party MLA, criticized the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for allegedly attempting to shield VSR Ventures Private Limited, the company that operated the ill-fated Learjet 45 aircraft, before admitting to safety lapses. Pawar accused the DGCA of issuing a "clean chit" to VSR Ventures before the crash and questioned the regulator's role in air safety. Following the crash, which killed Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the DGCA conducted a special safety audit and grounded four aircraft operated by VSR Ventures. Pawar demanded the resignation of Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, the Union Civil Aviation Minister, and called for action against DGCA officials and Arrow, a company that certified the aircraft's airworthiness.
