Tamil Nadu Assembly election: CPI (M) leader Shanmugam casts doubt on AIADMK’s role in NDA seat-sharing
P. Shanmugam, secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), stated that it appears only the BJP will allocate seats to the AIADMK in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He noted that while Edappadi K. Palaniswami, general secretary of the AIADMK, has claimed his party leads the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state, some NDA members have indicated they would only negotiate with the BJP. Shanmugam urged followers of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to consider this development and its implications.
