First-time MLAs’ letter to Congress high command seeking Cabinet berths surfaces
Congress legislators have sent a letter demanding at least five Cabinet berths during the proposed reshuffle, citing the need to accommodate 38 first-time elected members. The letter, signed by legislators from both camps of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, was addressed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, AICC general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal, and AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka Randeep Singh Surjewala. Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated that the Opposition is using the Dalit Chief Minister issue to deflect from their own shortcomings.
