Canadian PM Carney to arrive in India this week
Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, will travel to India and Delhi this week as part of a three-nation tour to India, Australia, and Japan. The visit aims to enhance and diversify Canada’s trade relations with these countries. Carney is expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on March 2nd to discuss trade, energy, technology, AI, talent, culture, and defense. The trip follows a thaw in ties between Canada and India after years of mistrust, particularly surrounding the killing of Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Carney will also meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Australia and PM Sanae Takaichi in Tokyo.
