Rajamahendravaram Anuria deaths: State announces ₹10 lakh ex-gratia
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced an ex-gratia of ₹10 lakh each to the families of those who died after allegedly consuming adulterated milk in Rajamahendravaram. The incident, which occurred in Choudeshwari Nagar and Swaroop Nagar areas, saw several residents fall ill with symptoms including vomiting, abdominal pain, and kidney complications requiring dialysis. Varalakshmi Milk Dairy, located in Korukonda mandal’s Narasapuram village, supplied the milk to around 106 families. Police have taken the dairy operator, Addala Ganeswara Rao, into custody for questioning. The Chief Minister directed authorities to ensure the best possible treatment for those hospitalized and has promised strict action against anyone found indulging in food adulteration.
