Calcutta High Court cancels judicial officers’ leaves to assist SIR

The Calcutta High Court ordered the cancellation of leave for all judicial officers in West Bengal until March 9th, directing those on leave to return to their courts and offices by February 23rd. This order follows a Supreme Court directive for the completion of the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state. The Supreme Court also directed the deployment of serving and former district judges to assist the Election Commission in resolving disputes related to the SIR process. The Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, Sujoy Paul, met with government officials on Saturday to discuss the matter.
