India participated as an observer in the first meeting of the Board of Peace for Gaza in Washington D.C., reaffirming its support for a sovereign, independent, and viable State of Palestine based on 1967 borders. The Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, explained that India attended the meeting due to President Trump's Gaza Peace Plan initiative and UNSC resolution 2803. India also signed a statement condemning Israel's settlement expansion in the West Bank, which was endorsed by over 100 states and international organizations.
