All eyes on Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation
The newly elected BJP corporators, Kolagani Srinivas and Y. Sunil Rao, have been nominated by the party to contest for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts of the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (MCK). The MCK election resulted in a hung council with the BJP securing 30 divisions, followed by the Congress (14), BRS (9), AIMIM (3), AIFB (2), and independents in five divisions. The outcome will depend on the BRS's stance and the votes of five independent candidates and two AIFB candidates. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, is expected to cast his vote as an ex-officio member.
