Byrathi Basavaraj remanded into seven days CID custody in Bikla Shiva murder case

Byrathi Basavaraj, the K.R. Puram BJP MLA accused of being involved in the murder of Bikla Shiva, was remanded into seven days of CID custody after medical clearance. Basavaraj was arrested at Bengaluru airport following a Supreme Court rejection of his bail plea and underwent a cardiac evaluation at Jayadeva Hospital. The CID is continuing its investigation into the case, with B.Y. Vijayendra, Karnataka BJP State president, expressing solidarity with Basavaraj.
