The Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced a comprehensive study of flight operations by non-scheduled operators (NSOPs) and uncontrolled airfields. This follows the fatal crash of a VSR Ventures-owned LearJet 45 near Baramati airport, which killed Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others. The DGCA has already initiated a special safety audit of NSOPs, and the Ministry is examining areas requiring improvement in both NSOP operations and uncontrolled airfields.
