Sexual assault case: Chargesheet filed against former Kerala MLA and filmmaker P.T. Kunju Muhammed
Allegations of sexual assault against a public figure should be a matter of urgent concern.
P.T. Kunju Muhammed, a renowned Malayalam director and former independent legislator, has been indicted by Cantonment police in Kerala for allegedly outraging the modesty of a fellow filmmaker. The case stems from an incident where the woman claims Muhammed made unsolicited sexual advances after inviting her to his hotel suite during a discussion about film selection for the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). The police have submitted charges against him, including outraging the modesty of a woman, illegal detention, intimidation, and trespass. Muhammed, who denies the allegations, is currently on anticipatory bail.
