Manipur CM assures Kuki-Zo people safe travel to Imphal

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh assured the safety of Kuki-Zo people visiting Imphal, aiming to rebuild trust between communities after the 2023 ethnic conflict. He pledged adequate security for those traveling for medical treatment and other purposes. The assurance comes as members of the two communities have avoided each other's territories since the violence began. Two BJP legislators, L.M. Khaute and Ngursanglur Sanate, were among the first Kuki-Zo to visit Imphal since May 2023. Another BJP legislator, Vungzagin Valte, was brought from Churachandpur for medical treatment in Delhi after an assault during the conflict.
