
BJP, Shiv Sena ahead in Maharashtra Zilla Parishad polls
BJP and Shiv Sena, its ally, were leading in the early results of Maharashtra's local body elections. The BJP secured a lead in 200 Zilla Parishad seats and Shiv Sena held onto 137 seats. The NCP was ahead with 120 seats, followed by the Congress (46), Shiv Sena (UBT) (33), NCP (SP) (13), and others (29). The results are expected to impact the future of the NCP factions led by Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar.
